"You shouldn't put anything on your skin that you wouldn't eat."
In 2010, Mike and Kim Walthall decided to have a "Crafted Christmas" — making handmade gifts instead of buying them. What began as a holiday project quickly became something more once friends and family kept coming back for more.
Both were frustrated with what they found in most store-bought skincare: long ingredient lists full of things they couldn't pronounce, let alone explain. So they started making soap the old-fashioned way — cold-processed, kept at a lower temperature to preserve the natural, therapeutic properties of the oils and butters that go into every bar.
That original rule still guides every product Cane River makes today.
